If you regularly hang larger items off your bag such as a mat or tent, I will ask for the measurements A and B in the final picture above.
 
Options such as drawcords made from shock cord or para cord or both, side clip or elastic attachments on the inside for security, sized to your pack on your measurements. I always attach a spring clip to the cord for an extra security measure.
